Video Length: 4 Hours

Here’s some of what Charlie has for you that we’ve packed into this video:

  • Invite mystery and intrigue into your paintings!
  • When to render precise detail and when to JUST STOP!
  • When one part doesn’t work with another part… [scratch head here]
  • “Help, my brushes won’t do what I want them to do!”
  • Obliterate problems before they even start! (Almost like having ESP!)
  • Want to double or triple the impact? DO THIS!
  • Add power to your paintings — here’s how!
  • Clear the clutter (it only takes a few simple tools!)
  • Tell the story simply, but powerfully!
  • Don’t ever get caught without this ONE thing!
  • Use this brush … no, wait … use that one (how to make up your mind!)
  • “Help, my paintings are BORING!”
  • Create a better story, more excitement, and wild drama!
  • And so much more!

You’ll see more of Charlie’s signature techniques and moves:

  • The “No Hieroglyphics” technique
  • The “Every Painting Is an Abstract Painting” maneuver
  • His “No Smooching on the First Date” method
  • Charlie’s “Take Away Everything That Doesn’t Look Like an Elephant” schtick
  • The “Squeegee Giveth and the Squeegee Taketh Away” (Worship the Squeegee!)
  • The “Things of God/Things of Man” miracle
  • The “Let Go of Edges” deal (not as scary as it sounds!)
  • "The Squint" thing (as Charlie learned it from the great Richard Schmid)
  • The "You Are So Stupid" riddle (see it to believe it!)
  • “Drink Coffee and Go, ‘Hmmmmmm…’” tactics (steadily drinking coffee since his last video!)

You know the drill. False compliments from friends and family. “Nice colors” or “Interesting subject.”

But how often do you receive unsolicited comments like, “Who painted this? It’s amazing!”

Yet there are only a few small adjustments in how you approach painting that will make the difference between whether or not you get compliments or sales!

What would it feel like to finish a painting, step back, and smile because you know it’s a good painting and it turned out exactly as you imagined…

What would an accomplishment like this do for your confidence and self-esteem? How would it impact the way people respond to your artwork?

Today, you’re going to see how to break through your frustration and make the paintings you’ve always known you could make! Paintings that tell stories, create excitement, and are packed with drama.

Charlie Hunter has become an icon in the art world. Everyone wants to understand why his paintings stand out so much.

It’s not that people want to do monochrome paintings like his — they want to know how he creates emotion, story, and drama.

Charlie has a new video that’ll help you experience a true breakthrough in your art so you can start new paintings with a vision and finish them having met your own expectations!

In Breakthrough Designs for Landscapes, Charlie will show you how to design your paintings so they turn out the way you want them to and they tell the stories you wish to tell.

Charlie’s instruction and demonstration in this video are going to help you design your paintings so your viewers will naturally be drawn in and led through the painting. They’ll see and interpret what YOU have decided is important — after all, you are the artist here!

And suddenly you’ll start seeing an increase in compliments and salesas you become a master storytellerthrough your paintings.

You’ll be getting rid of the clutter and directing the viewers’ visual focus as they purposefully meander through your paintings, soaking up every bit of color, texture, and feeling.

Without their even knowing it, you’ll be making people fall in love with your work … they’ll want to follow you and collect your art so they can “read” the next chapter of your story…

Laughs and Learning

Charlie Hunter provides a ton of useful information delivered with his own special sense of humor. After watching I was inspired to work on monochromatic paintings employing Charlie's designs and tools. It really is a fun instructional video and a must for your library.

Just Awesome

Sooooo informative and entertaining all in one. Great insight on how to think out, draw and then get a good composition with building shapes to ending with a great painting. I'm a big Bernie Fuchs fan so this was a great choice for me. You will definitely rethink the tools you use after this! I have plenty of the basics videos so it was refreshing to watch Charlie and his you are so stupid technique! You have to get this one!

Informative and good-humoured video

Charlie Hunter offers some great tips and advice for the landscape painter in his normal good-humoured, almost irreverent style! Learn from a master of his craft whilst having fun!

Charlie Hunter Breakthrough Designs for Landscapes

While Charlie is more of a monochrome painter his video does educate viewers like me as (PBS/NPR comments) on the importance of values, composition & design areas I have fallen short on. His side comments on brush handling were also invaluable.

I initially saw the "Preview" from Eric's daily video offering and the bit I saw was enough to convince me the trivial amount of $ to buy the entire video would be worthwhile and I needed to see the /learn the entire amount of information Charlie has to offer. I have yet to view Charlie's critique from Plein Air Live but will need to do that before my limited time for replays expires.

One Of The Best Videos

I do not paint anything like Charlie Hunter, but I still learned so much when watching this video. I have always believed any artist who stops learning goes stagnant and I learned a ton and was entertained at the same time. I really enjoyed this learning experience!
